Questions people ask
What does AFUE mean?
It is how much of the gas you pay for turns into heat in your house. An 80% furnace loses about a fifth of it up the flue. A 96% furnace loses very little. In mild LA winters the cheaper furnace is often the right call. The high-efficiency ones pay off more in colder areas.
Should I get a heat pump instead?
Worth a look. A heat pump replaces the furnace AND gives you cooling, and it costs less than a furnace plus a new AC. If your AC is old too, compare our heat pump prices first.
Is a permit really needed for a furnace swap?
Yes. A furnace replacement needs a permit in California. The permit fee is not included in the prices on this page; it is quoted separately.
