Thinking about a regular AC? Look at this first.
Central AC
$100 to $120/ton
On a 3-ton system: $300 to $360 back. Cooling only.
Heat pump
$1,000 to $1,250/ton
On a 3-ton system: $3,000 to $3,750 back. Cools exactly like an AC, and heats too.
Same cooling. About ten times the rebate. And our heat pumps already cost less to install than a furnace and AC. Heat pump vs gas, honestly
West Valley? There may be a second incentive.
TECH Clean California is launching a heat pump incentive for Porter Ranch, Northridge, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Canoga Park and the other Aliso Canyon communities. Check if your ZIP is on the list

Questions people ask
Does LADWP give a rebate for a regular central AC?
Yes, but it is small: $100 to $120 per ton. A qualifying heat pump gets $1,000 to $1,250 per ton, about ten times more, and it cools exactly like an AC.
Does every heat pump qualify?
No. It has to be at least 15.2 SEER2 and 7.7 HSPF2, and the amount goes up with efficiency. We mark the options on your quote that may qualify.
Do ductless mini-splits qualify?
Yes, and they get the biggest rebate: $1,500 to $2,500 per ton depending on efficiency. Start your quote online and we'll follow up with mini-split pricing for your home.
Is the rebate taken off your price?
No. Our prices are before the rebate. You apply with LADWP after the install, within 12 months of purchase, and LADWP pays you.
Is the rebate guaranteed?
No. LADWP funding is limited and first come, first served, and LADWP decides eligibility. That is why we say "may qualify."
